Employment in Canada increased by 28,800 jobs from August to September, according to the September ADP® Canada National Employment Report. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Canada National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute. The report, which is derived from actual ADP payroll data, measures the change in total non-farm payroll employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.
“The labor market was quite strong in the month of September,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice-president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Although the goods producing sector struggled this month, we saw significant growth in many industries. Trade, for example, continued its steady growth, adding the most jobs the sector has seen all year.”
The August total of jobs added was revised up from 13,600 to 42,700.
