Gold drill results generated a bit of excitement in shares of a junior explorer Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves as of the close on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019.
Comstock Metals Ltd (V:CSL) Ltd. shares climbed 43% to $0.05 on Thursday after the junior explorer announced results from the winter diamond drilling program at its 100-percent owned Preview SW gold project in Saskatchewan, which included 23.6 metres averaging 3.60 g/t gold.
As well, shares of Eldorado Gold Corp (TO:ELD) surged 28% to $4.92 as the gold miner said it will resume mining and heap leaching at its Kisladag gold mine in Turkey by the end of the first quarter.
Tethyan Resources PLC (V:TETH), meanwhile, reported that it has closed a $3.3 million non-brokered private placement at a price of C$0.20 per unit, the majority of which was bought by Richard Warke, who founded and sold companies such as Ventana Gold, Augusta Resource Corp, and Arizona Mining. Tethyan Resources stock popped 68% to $0.335 following the announcement.
