The company is involved in the planting and milling of sugar cane for the production of sugar and by-products of sugar cane, including molasses and bagasses; engages in the landscaping and nursery business that include cultivation of aromatics, shrubs, indoor plants, and orchids; production of fruits and vegetables, such as potatoes, onions, and carrots; and ready to eat products, including seasonal fruits, dried herbs, and chips and snacks under the Jardins de Medine and Epices Et Herbes Aromatiques brand names. It also provides nursery, pre-primary, primary school, secondary school, and higher education programs; and executive education services that include coaching, consulting, and industry-specific short courses. In addition, the company engages in land promoting, and residential and commercial property development activities; asset, property, and facilities management services; rental of residential, educational, office, and commercial buildings; construction and sale of villas; and other land transactions. Further, it operates Casela nature and leisure park, Tamarina golf and spa boutique hotel, SPARC sports and leisure center, and restaurants; and offers deer farming, nature escapade, forestry, management consultancy, event management, and travel and tourism services, as well as is involved in the production of solar energy. The company was formerly known as The Medine Sugar Estates Company Limited and changed its name to Medine Limited in September 2009. Medine Limited was founded in 1911 and is based in Beau Bassin, Mauritius.
