WINNIPEG, Manitoba, June 14 (Reuters) - Rains in Alberta last week improved parched soil conditions, the government of the western Canadian province said on Friday in a report as of June 11.
* Heat and wind have left surface soil moisture levels at 13.7% poor (22.8% week earlier), 27.2% fair (28.6%), 49.7% good (43.5%), 9.1% excellent (4.6%) and 0.3% excessive (0.5%).
* Northeast and West-Central regions got most of the rain.
* Concerns include smoke and frost in northern areas and flea beetles and cutworms in other areas.
* Pastures rated as 25% poor, 32% fair, 40% good and 3% excellent.
* Planting progress is virtually finished.
