Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.83% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 4.20% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.476 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 3.93% or 0.1640 points to end at 4.3400 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 3.62% or 1.12 points to 32.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Snam (MI:SRG), which lost 1.25% or 0.052 points to trade at 4.098 in late trade. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 0.75% or 0.036 points to end at 4.774 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) shed 0.62% or 0.15 points to 24.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 229 to 138 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.46% or 0.24 to $52.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.71% or 0.41 to hit $57.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.86% or 11.25 to trade at $1290.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.08.
