Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Leasing & Factoring and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 7.80% or 2.15 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 6.36% or 0.070 points to end at 1.170 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 5.46% or 0.450 points to 8.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 12.90% or 3.00 points to trade at 20.25 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 4.27% or 0.36 points to end at 8.07 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 4.17% or 0.55 points to 12.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 232 to 167 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.77% or 8.90 to $1144.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.34% or 1.24 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 1.07 to trade at $57.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.70% to 2.6498, while EUR/TRY rose 0.26% to 2.9082.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 97.25.
