Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.61% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 1.37% or 1.24 points to end at 91.99 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 1.18% or 0.17 points to 14.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 4.75% or 2.09 points to trade at 41.89 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.82% or 0.62 points to end at 15.59 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was down 3.00% or 1.54 points to 49.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 312 to 243 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; falling 3.82% or 0.62 to 15.59.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.58% or 1.19 to $47.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.16% or 1.05 to hit $49.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.50% or 17.00 to trade at $1118.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.20% to 4.2533, while USD/PLN rose 0.44% to 3.8862.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 97.44.
