Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 15.70% or 0.570 points to trade at 4.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 4.39% or 8.090 points to end at 192.510 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 3.28% or 0.400 points to 12.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 7.57% or 0.700 points to trade at 8.550 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 4.48% or 1.650 points to end at 35.200 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 2.56% or 1.210 points to 46.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 82 to 56 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.48% or 1.650 to 35.200.
Gold for April delivery was up 3.06% or 35.40 to $1193.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.90% or 0.90 to hit $30.00 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.35% or 1.14 to trade at $32.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.35% to 18.6870, while EUR/MXN rose 1.68% to 20.9407.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 96.67.
