Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Textile & Leather and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 14.55% or 0.780 points to trade at 6.140 at the close. Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC) added 6.94% or 0.170 points to end at 2.620 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) was up 3.48% or 0.27 points to 8.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN), which lost 2.16% or 5.50 points to trade at 249.50 in late trade. AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) declined 2.13% or 0.020 points to end at 0.920 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) shed 2.11% or 0.030 points to 1.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 199 to 146 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.38% or 5.05 to $1348.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.58% or 1.15 to hit $45.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.51% or 1.18 to trade at $48.15 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.56% to 2.9417, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 3.2952.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.47.
