Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Retail and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 28.00% or 0.12 points to trade at 0.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Motor Oil (AT:MORr) added 8.00% or 0.80 points to end at 10.80 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 6.29% or 0.018 points to 0.304 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which fell 19.57% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.111 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 14.81% or 0.024 points to end at 0.138 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 8.14% or 0.04 points to 0.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 43 to 40 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Motor Oil (AT:MORr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 8.00% or 0.80 to 10.80.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.17% or 13.20 to $1113.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.23 to trade at $48.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.7381.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 96.44.
