Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which rose 4.00% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0025 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 3.51% or 0.3380 points to end at 9.9550 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was up 3.26% or 0.0180 points to 0.5700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which fell 1.59% or 0.1180 points to trade at 7.3090 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.21% or 0.1110 points to end at 9.0520 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was down 0.29% or 0.0110 points to 3.7910.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 20 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.29% or 0.12 to $43.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.54 to hit $40.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1067.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0644, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.6991.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 99.76.
