Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) added 24.95% or 204.60 points to end at 1024.50 and Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) was up 15.07% or 15.70 points to 119.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 17.76% or 539.70 points to trade at 2500.00 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 15.58% or 389.40 points to end at 2110.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 11.14% or 3.90 points to 35.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 136 to 90 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 24.95% or 204.60 to 1024.50. Shares in Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) rose to 52-week highs; up 15.07% or 15.70 to 119.90.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.97% or 0.43 to $44.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.44 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.70 to trade at $1126.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.98% to 212.075, while USD/LKR fell 0.82% to 139.825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.18.
