Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 4.99% or 0.0580 points to trade at 1.2200 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.58% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.0398 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.15% or 0.0420 points to 3.6840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 4.41% or 0.1270 points to trade at 2.7530 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 1.81% or 0.2550 points to end at 13.8150 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 1.04% or 0.0680 points to 6.4690.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 19 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 5.66% or 2.19 to $40.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 5.54% or 1.99 to hit $37.91 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.72% or 9.20 to trade at $1261.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1017, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7719.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.11.
