Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.88% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which rose 4.17% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.250 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 3.54% or 0.350 points to end at 10.250 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 1.87% or 2.700 points to 146.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 1.70% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.290 in late trade. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 0.50% or 0.070 points to end at 14.010 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 0.39% or 0.001 points to 0.258.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 7 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.79% or 1.75 to $47.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1275.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3357, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7774.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.53.
