Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Basic Resources and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.22%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.02%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which rose 4.92% or 1.225 points to trade at 26.100 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 4.27% or 0.445 points to end at 10.875 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 3.67% or 0.570 points to 16.095 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which lost 0.71% or 0.75 points to trade at 105.00 in late trade. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.68% or 0.23 points to end at 34.53 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) shed 0.30% or 0.270 points to 91.180.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 3.57% to 23.220, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was up 3.48% to settle at 46.645 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which gained 3.06% to close at 35.350.
The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was down 1.47% to 81.100 in late trade, Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which lost 0.84% to settle at 66.970 and Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which was down 0.68% to 12.46 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 5.53% to 11.350, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 3.02% to settle at 57.400 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which gained 2.32% to close at 50.270.
The worst performers were Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was down 2.78% to 37.43 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which lost 2.46% to settle at 22.400 and Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which was down 0.78% to 38.050 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 538 to 244 and 9 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 17.05% to 13.68.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.51% or 18.80 to $1223.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.56% or 0.72 to hit $46.76 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.65 to trade at $49.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1365, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 95.92.
