United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 2.03%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 2.03%, while the ADX General index gained 0.80%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which rose 4.95% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.509 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) added 4.82% or 0.080 points to end at 1.740 and Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) was up 3.60% or 0.200 points to 5.750 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 2.84% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.376 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 2.25% or 0.040 points to end at 1.740 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was down 1.71% or 0.100 points to 5.750.

The top performers on the ADX General were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which rose 7.69% to 0.980, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was up 4.52% to settle at 6.48 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 3.57% to close at 0.290.

The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 5.43% to 0.87 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 3.17% to settle at 0.610 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 2.04% to 0.480 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 6 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 10 fell and 9 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.69% or 0.070 to 0.980.

Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.24% or 0.36 to $29.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.42% or 0.47 to hit $33.87 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 2.10% or 26.00 to trade at $1213.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.14% to 4.1053.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.51.
