Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Information Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 3.90% or 2.01 points to trade at 53.50 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 3.75% or 0.80 points to end at 22.15 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 2.92% or 0.37 points to 13.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 3.63% or 2.06 points to trade at 54.72 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 2.68% or 2.05 points to end at 74.55 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 2.18% or 6.25 points to 279.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 246 to 234 and 210 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.85% or 0.83 to $43.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.86% or 0.86 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 8.85 to trade at $1322.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.03% to 4.3613, while USD/PLN rose 0.52% to 3.9772.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 97.52.
