Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Banking and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 4.41% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.080 at the close. Ayen Enerji AS (IS:AYEN) added 4.27% or 0.180 points to end at 4.400 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 3.63% or 0.41 points to 11.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 3.74% or 1.10 points to trade at 28.30 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 2.50% or 0.040 points to end at 1.560 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 156 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.78% or 9.82 to $1266.22 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.98% or 0.48 to hit $49.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.68% or 0.35 to trade at $51.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.32% to 3.5782, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 3.9972.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 97.39.
