Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 6.37% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.518 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.97% or 0.0260 points to end at 0.9000 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 2.25% or 0.0960 points to 4.3680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 1.17% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.9290 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.66% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.3000 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.47% or 0.0260 points to 5.5330.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 17 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.83% or 0.39 to $47.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.58% or 0.26 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.87 to trade at $1256.47 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8753.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 97.17.
