Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which rose 3.66% or 1.36 points to trade at 38.49 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) added 2.96% or 0.60 points to end at 20.90 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 2.62% or 0.200 points to 7.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 1.76% or 0.51 points to trade at 28.40 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.13% or 0.04 points to end at 31.16 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) gained 0.67% or 0.020 points to 3.020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 47 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.31% or 0.48 to $37.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.13% or 0.72 to hit $34.47 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.70 to trade at $1231.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0842, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7774.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 98.52.
