Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which rose 4.66% or 0.320 points to trade at 7.185 at the close. Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) added 4.03% or 0.168 points to end at 4.338 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 2.48% or 0.075 points to 3.103 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telefonica (MC:TEF), which lost 2.06% or 0.194 points to trade at 9.213 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.31% or 0.335 points to end at 25.295 and Endesa (MC:ELE) shed 1.28% or 0.280 points to 21.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 76 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.51 to $1249.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.40 to hit $44.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.49 to trade at $47.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1372, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8793.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 95.80.
