Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 1.66% or 0.290 points to trade at 17.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 1.61% or 0.050 points to end at 3.150 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was up 1.40% or 0.180 points to 13.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which fell 4.65% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.410 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.79% or 0.011 points to end at 0.279 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was down 3.35% or 0.260 points to 7.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.31% or 1.07 to $45.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.62% or 0.79 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.92% or 10.80 to trade at $1166.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.23% to 3.2595, while EUR/PEN rose 0.10% to 3.6938.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.07.
