Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Machinery and Auto sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Para Light Electronics Co Ltd (TW:6226), which rose 10.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) added 10.00% or 12.50 points to end at 137.50 and Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) was up 9.98% or 2.40 points to 26.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AOPEN Inc (TW:3046), which lost 6.25% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.75 in late trade. SDI Corp (TW:2351) declined 4.27% or 3.50 points to end at 78.50 and Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) shed 3.74% or 5.50 points to 141.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 531 to 222 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $55.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.46 to trade at $1277.26 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.25% to 30.364, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.35.
