Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.73% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 4.59% or 0.1960 points to trade at 4.4700 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 4.07% or 0.186 points to end at 4.758 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 3.16% or 0.70 points to 22.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 0.65% or 0.25 points to trade at 38.20 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 0.54% or 0.14 points to end at 25.64 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 0.41% or 0.13 points to 31.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 59 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 4.52% or 2.09 to $48.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.29% or 1.92 to hit $46.68 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.63% or 22.15 to trade at $1334.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1086, while EUR/GBP fell 1.95% to 0.8348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.35.
