Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 3.59% or 0.229 points to trade at 6.610 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 3.31% or 0.077 points to end at 2.407 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was up 3.07% or 3.20 points to 107.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enagas (MC:ENAG), which fell 0.77% or 0.220 points to trade at 28.210 at the close. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) declined 0.53% or 0.035 points to end at 6.631 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was down 0.11% or 0.035 points to 30.870.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 157 to 69 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.07% or 3.20 to 107.35.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.64% or 6.80 to $1063.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.84% or 0.35 to hit $42.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $44.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.0565, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.7022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 100.28.
