Investing.com - Crescent Point Energy (TSX:CPG) reported first quarter earnings that beat analysts' expectations on Thursday and revenue that topped forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of C$2.03 on revenue of C$984.4M. Analysts polled by Investing.com forecast EPS of C$0.4073 on revenue of C$937.50M. .

Crescent Point Energy shares lost 1.50% to trade at C$8.53 in intra-day trade following the report.

For the year, Crescent Point Energy shares are up 2.13%, outperforming the S&P/TSX which is down 7.35% year to date.
