Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Media and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 3.38% or 1.29 points to trade at 39.50 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) added 2.29% or 0.21 points to end at 9.37 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.15% or 1.83 points to 86.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP), which lost 5.55% or 0.30 points to trade at 5.11 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 3.62% or 2.34 points to end at 62.25 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 3.27% or 11.25 points to 332.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 374 to 211 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.74% or 0.39 to $52.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.90% or 0.49 to hit $54.95 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.85 to trade at $1131.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.4219, while USD/PLN rose 0.00% to 4.2309.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 102.94.
