Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Media and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 1.61% or 0.2 points to trade at 12.6 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 0.75% or 0.30 points to end at 39.94 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) was up 0.33% or 1.0 points to 305.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC), which fell 8.08% or 0.17 points to trade at 1.88 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) declined 6.72% or 0.90 points to end at 12.50 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was down 3.44% or 1.15 points to 32.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 129 to 62 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.88% or 0.75 to $40.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.69% or 1.15 to hit $43.63 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.40 to trade at $1057.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.94% to 9.2728, while USD/NOK fell 1.73% to 8.5052.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.83% at 98.21.
