Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.64% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 0.97% or 0.210 points to trade at 22.060 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 0.16% or 0.060 points to end at 38.000 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was down 0.68% or 1.910 points to 277.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 5.19% or 0.690 points to trade at 12.540 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 4.51% or 8.190 points to end at 173.300 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 3.45% or 2.350 points to 65.560.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 146 to 29 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 0.68% or 1.910 to 277.110.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.50% or 5.80 to $1153.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 5.75% or 2.33 to hit $38.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 6.46% or 2.94 to trade at $42.52 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.11% to 17.1693, while EUR/MXN rose 2.99% to 19.9215.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.54% at 93.38.
