Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 5.99% or 0.051 points to trade at 0.902 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.88% or 0.390 points to end at 7.023 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 2.24% or 0.595 points to 27.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which lost 4.37% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.203 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.07% or 0.380 points to end at 17.950 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) shed 1.53% or 0.290 points to 18.645.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 144 to 59 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.85 to $1211.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.76% or 0.85 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.50 to trade at $48.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0623, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8557.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 101.12.
