Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel, Household and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 7.17% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.520 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 6.04% or 0.011 points to end at 0.193 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 5.66% or 0.060 points to 1.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 8.06% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.342 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 2.44% or 0.001 points to end at 0.040 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) shed 1.99% or 0.290 points to 14.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 48 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 1.57% or 18.80 to $1215.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.57 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.13 to trade at $55.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.0703, while EUR/GBP fell 1.72% to 0.8650.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.11% at 100.40.
