Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.69% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.2150 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 9.66% or 0.074 points to end at 0.840 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 8.00% or 0.016 points to 0.218 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Korres (AT:KRRr), which lost 4.52% or 0.210 points to trade at 4.440 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 4.20% or 0.060 points to end at 1.370 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) shed 3.51% or 0.012 points to 0.330.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 10.56 to $1268.94 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $45.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.23 to trade at $48.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.34.
