Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) added 22.73% or 5.00 points to end at 27.00 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was up 21.71% or 3.80 points to 21.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 25.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.40 at the close. Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) declined 14.13% or 1.30 points to end at 7.90 and Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC (CM:BOPL) was down 12.00% or 1.20 points to 8.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 105 to 93 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 25.00% or 0.10 to 0.40. Shares in Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) fell to all time lows; falling 14.13% or 1.30 to 7.90. Shares in Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC (CM:BOPL) fell to 52-week lows; down 12.00% or 1.20 to 8.80.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.35% or 1.05 to $30.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.20% or 0.71 to hit $31.86 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.33% or 3.70 to trade at $1116.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.46% to 206.110, while USD/LKR fell 0.27% to 143.735.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 99.03.
