Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 2.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 5.23% or 0.20 points to trade at 4.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 3.67% or 2.64 points to end at 74.50 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) was up 3.53% or 0.920 points to 27.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 0.63% or 0.13 points to trade at 20.64 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.70% or 0.33 points to end at 47.38 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFB) was up 0.74% or 0.360 points to 48.975.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 108 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.87% or 10.80 to $1237.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 9.98% or 2.62 to hit $28.82 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 8.30% or 2.50 to trade at $32.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.1234, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.7761.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.11.
