Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 2.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which fell 0.30% or 0.140 points to trade at 45.845 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) fell 0.54% or 0.60 points to end at 109.85 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was down 0.94% or 0.43 points to 45.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 3.77% or 1.960 points to trade at 50.070 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 3.61% or 1.52 points to end at 40.58 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 3.10% or 0.319 points to 9.966.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 140 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.83% or 10.60 to $1286.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.55% or 0.27 to hit $48.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.26 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1283, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.7931.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.45.
