Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which rose 4.76% or 3.18 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 3.43% or 0.36 points to end at 10.85 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 3.13% or 3.01 points to 99.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 2.49% or 0.29 points to trade at 11.35 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.99% or 2.70 points to end at 132.80 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 1.92% or 0.42 points to 21.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 393 to 250 and 77 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.30% or 0.47 to $35.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.86% or 0.69 to hit $36.20 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.33% or 14.20 to trade at $1079.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.56% to 4.2485, while USD/PLN fell 1.04% to 3.8908.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 98.44.
