Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.97% or 0.0026 points to trade at 0.0549 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 4.67% or 0.2010 points to end at 4.5020 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 4.17% or 0.0160 points to 0.4000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which fell 3.96% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.4370 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 2.75% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.6020 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 1.92% or 0.2450 points to 12.5400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.67% or 0.2010 to 4.5020. Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.75% or 0.0170 to 0.6020.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.46% or 0.72 to $48.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.03% or 0.48 to hit $46.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.10 to trade at $1134.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7143.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 96.95.
