Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which rose 1.30% or 0.11 points to trade at 8.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 1.18% or 0.39 points to end at 33.49 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was up 1.01% or 0.0750 points to 7.5150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 3.34% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.766 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 3.25% or 0.44 points to end at 13.11 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was down 2.81% or 0.0330 points to 1.1420.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 276 to 146 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.06% or 0.02 to $34.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $37.09 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.65% or 17.30 to trade at $1066.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0838, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7276.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 98.90.
