Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Banking & Financials and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 1.73% or 0.070 points to trade at 4.120 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.19% or 1.5000 points to end at 127.5000 and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) was up 0.71% or 0.500 points to 70.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which lost 3.33% or 0.460 points to trade at 13.360 in late trade. Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) declined 3.04% or 6.400 points to end at 204.400 and Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) shed 1.83% or 42.000 points to 2252.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 79 and 46 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1274.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.82% or 0.38 to hit $46.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.30 to trade at $47.90 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.08% to 7.1547, while USD/PHP rose 0.21% to 46.585.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 93.92.
