Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 0.75% or 0.040 points to trade at 5.340 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 0.66% or 35.35 points to end at 5355.55 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 0.62% or 0.05 points to 8.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 4.85% or 3.41 points to trade at 66.95 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.21% or 0.89 points to end at 39.34 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) shed 2.06% or 0.62 points to 29.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 302 to 262 and 175 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.55% or 0.29 to $52.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.85 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.32% or 15.80 to trade at $1212.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.14% to 4.3682, while USD/PLN fell 1.03% to 4.0835.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.07% at 100.44.
