Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.99% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 3.32% or 1.270 points to trade at 39.470 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.09% or 1.03 points to end at 34.39 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.78% or 0.810 points to 29.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 2.58% or 0.64 points to trade at 24.21 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.29% or 11.12 points to end at 473.67 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 1.35% or 0.390 points to 28.540.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 117 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.09% or 1.05 to $1225.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $55.95 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.09% to 19.6324, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 20.7715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 101.67.
