Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Hotels sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sintronic Tech (TW:3536), which rose 9.89% or 2.15 points to trade at 23.90 at the close. Bright Led (TW:3031) added 9.22% or 1.60 points to end at 18.95 and Kpt Industries (TW:1805) was up 7.48% or 0.71 points to 10.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shin Tai Ind (TW:1235), which lost 9.94% or 3.20 points to trade at 29.00 in late trade. Jess-Link (TW:6197) declined 9.64% or 3.60 points to end at 33.75 and Favite (TW:3535) shed 9.63% or 1.55 points to 14.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 561 to 237 and 84 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.42% or 0.20 to $47.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1251.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 30.198, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 99.12.
