Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 2.24% or 1.39 points to trade at 63.40 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 1.78% or 2.05 points to end at 117.10 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.68% or 0.11 points to 6.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 7.48% or 0.93 points to trade at 11.50 in late trade. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 2.29% or 0.28 points to end at 11.93 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 2.28% or 0.73 points to 31.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 243 and 170 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.25% or 0.12 to $47.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.74 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.47 to trade at $1228.67 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.2169, while USD/PLN fell 0.79% to 3.8601.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 99.13.
