Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Banking and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.42%, while the ADX General index added 1.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which rose 3.47% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.745 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) added 3.38% or 0.080 points to end at 2.450 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 3.33% or 0.050 points to 1.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA), which fell 0.89% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.110 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 0.56% or 0.010 points to end at 1.790 and National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) was down 0.28% or 0.010 points to 3.500.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which rose 14.86% to 3.17, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was up 7.87% to settle at 0.96 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which gained 4.36% to close at 14.35.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.74% to 3.15 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 9.26% to settle at 2.45 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 6.92% to 6.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 4 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 9 declined, while 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.11% or 0.51 to $45.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.92% or 0.46 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.82% or 9.20 to trade at $1111.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6726, while EUR/AED fell 0.57% to 4.0916.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.30.
