Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 7.69% or 50.00 points to trade at 676.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Tiger Branded Consumer Goods PLC (LAGOS:TIGERBRD) added 5.00% or 0.06 points to end at 1.23 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 4.82% or 0.25 points to 5.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which fell 6.63% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.56 at the close. Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) declined 3.56% or 0.14 points to end at 3.80 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was down 1.82% or 0.02 points to 1.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 20 to 14 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) fell to all time lows; down 6.63% or 0.11 to 1.56.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 3.98% or 1.31 to $31.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 4.00% or 1.37 to hit $32.91 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.48% or 5.90 to trade at $1232.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.05% to 221.010, while USD/NGN fell 0.12% to 198.870.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 96.66.
