Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 2.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 7.10% or 0.132 points to trade at 1.990 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.31% or 0.225 points to end at 4.463 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 5.16% or 0.173 points to 3.523 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which lost 0.11% or 0.030 points to trade at 27.070 in late trade. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.04% or 0.003 points to end at 7.593 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) gained 0.11% or 0.030 points to 27.015.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 168 to 28 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.39% or 5.35 to $1356.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.23 to trade at $46.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1047, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8533.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.39.
