Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Household and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which rose 6.32% or 1.29 points to trade at 21.69 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 4.83% or 0.515 points to end at 11.175 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 2.25% or 0.080 points to 3.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 6.99% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.1330 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.26% or 0.01 points to end at 0.18 and Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) shed 4.35% or 0.070 points to 1.540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 46 to 41 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.64% or 8.65 to $1358.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.21% or 0.96 to hit $44.45 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.82% or 0.84 to trade at $46.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1182, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8643.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 95.50.
