Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.59% or 0.57 points to trade at 22.59 at the close. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) added 1.32% or 0.0280 points to end at 2.1480 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 1.31% or 0.036 points to 2.782 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which lost 3.40% or 0.0740 points to trade at 2.1000 in late trade. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 3.20% or 0.066 points to end at 1.996 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) shed 2.93% or 0.098 points to 3.244.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 266 to 126 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.41% or 1.58 to $44.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.11% or 1.48 to hit $46.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1342.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1231, while EUR/GBP rose 1.00% to 0.8660.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.37.
