Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 3.55% or 0.360 points to trade at 10.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.04% or 1.12 points to end at 37.98 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was up 2.91% or 0.840 points to 29.720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 1.47% or 0.200 points to trade at 13.400 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 1.36% or 0.510 points to end at 37.120 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was down 1.25% or 0.370 points to 29.220.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 100 to 53 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.04% or 1.12 to 37.98.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.17% or 1.90 to $1087.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.53% or 0.69 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $50.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.62% to 16.2776, while EUR/MXN rose 0.26% to 17.7193.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 98.04.
