Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 3.01% or 0.302 points to trade at 10.348 at the close. Meanwhile, Telefonica (MC:TEF) added 1.29% or 0.158 points to end at 12.338 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 1.26% or 0.066 points to 5.261 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 5.04% or 0.138 points to trade at 2.600 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 4.73% or 0.259 points to end at 5.218 and Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) was down 4.57% or 0.350 points to 7.302.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 103 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.24% or 2.70 to $1111.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.15% or 1.51 to hit $46.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.57% or 1.80 to trade at $48.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.98% to 1.0856, while EUR/GBP fell 0.71% to 0.7060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 98.05.
